Just a few questions that Clients &
Pet Parents ask:
|
|
|
What types of animals do you pet sit? I
have had a wide range of experience with a variety of animals; pocket pets that are both warm and cold blooded, all types
and breeds of dogs and cats, some farm and 4H pets, horses, and quite a few birds. My only real concern is with aggression, and that can show up in any type of animal.
If I feel uncomfortable with an animal, then I will refuse to take the contract.
Do you pet sit at your home?
No. I am not set up to have a boarding facility. I come to your home
and take care of your pets in their own environment, where they are more comfortable. I feel that a lot of animals feel
a certain amount of stress when placed in a boarding facility, no matter how good it is.
Will you take care of my dog, exclusively, 24x7?
No, as I do have other clients booked each day, but I can offer as many visits in the day as you
would like, along with my overnight service. My overnight service runs from 7pm to 7 am, and most clients feel one or
two 1/2 hour visits during the day is sufficient for their dog's needs.
Can you come every other day instead of daily visits?
No.
Any animal can get into trouble if left on their own for too long. While in my care, I do prefer at least one visit
per day for cats, and dogs who are in a large pen or run. For 'inside' dogs I prefer 2 to 3 visits per day,
at the least.
What about if my pet requires medication, or falls
ill while I am away?
During our initial consultation, you will be asked a series of questions about your pet with regards to his health and
medications. I am capable of giving most medications, and have even given insulin shots to a client's diabetic cat.
You will also be asked to fill out a Veterinary release form, that will authorize me to take your pet for veterinary
care in your absence. All bills will be paid by yourself upon your return. I will only take your pet to the vet
if it is deemed serious or an emergency, and will make every effort to contact you before making the decision.
What happens if I am delayed in returning home from my vacation?
One of the questions I ask, during
our initial meeting, is the date and approximate time (within a few hours) that you expect to be home. It is very
important that you contact me as soon as possible if you will be arriving late. If I dont hear from you within
two hours of your expected arrival home, I will make another visit to your pets, and will continue to do so until I hear from
you. You will be billed at a later date.
Do you House Sit at a home without Pets?
Yes. What some people may not realize,
is that when you are away from your home for an extended time, your house insurance may be null and void if you
don't have someone physically check your home. For most policies, someone must enter and check the
home every 72 hours. I do a walk-about, both inside and outside the home, and check for any problems due to frozen
pipes, or blown breakers, and leave a documented list of what I found.
And now I would
like to ask a favour of all Pet Lovers who
visit my Site:
What I'm asking is pretty simple....The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting
enough people to click on their site, daily, to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected
animals. It takes less than a minute (about 20 seconds) to go to their site and click on the purple box: 'fund food
for animals' for free. This doesen't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsers/advertisers use the number
of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising. Here is their web site!
Please put it in your 'favorites' and visit it with me daily. You can also pass it on to all your
friends. Thank You from the bottom of my heart!
